WHO WE ARE
A logo of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, featuring two hands holding a cup

We are a network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to those in need.

Simply put, we are neighbors helping neighbors. We foster the spiritual growth of our members, as well as serving those in need in our communities.¹

WHAT WE DO
Our work is centered around person-to-person encounters and acts of Christian love for our neighbors - whoever they may be. We don't just help others who are Catholic; but we reach out to all because we are Catholic, as the word catholic means universal.

At the center of our work is the home visit - two of our members (known as Vincentians) visit those in need to better understand the challenges faced, as well as bringing hope and encouragement. We typically provide short-term support in the form of rent or utility assistance. However, "No work of charity is foreign to the Society." ²

GET INVOLVED
We meet (time, date, frequency) in the St. Gregory room at St. Benedict. We welcome those who are interested in learning more. If you have any questions, please contact our President, Billy Gifford, at (email address or contact info).

Our Spirituality
There are three essential elements to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul: Spirituality, Service, and Friendship.

Our members grow together in holiness through communal prayer, reflections on sacred scripture, and gathering together as a community. We aim to live out the Church's teachings in our day-to-day lives, especially by sharing in our relationships with others. The five Vincentian virtues that our spirituality focuses on are: Simplicity, Humility, Gentleness, Selflessness, and Zeal.

"Give me a person of prayer and that person will be capable of everything." - St. Vincent de Paul
